The intelligent transportation market is growing rapidly. It is expected to register a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of more than 5.5% over the period 2023 – 2025*, with an increased demand for solutions to improve traffic flow and increase road safety. In this context, LACROIX, expert in IoT through the skills of its design center, has developed an IoT demonstrator, a totem that displays all its know-how in this field.
One of LACROIX’s flagship products in terms of intelligent transportation is the C-ITS V2I roadside unit. This unit is used to connect roadside infrastructure elements and offers a multitude of functions, such as traffic data collection, real-time vehicle location, hazard zone notification, traffic signal priority and connected road patrol. It uses V2X and C-V2X communication protocols with radio communications with the infrastructure and connected vehicles, as well as 3G/4G/5G cellular communications.
The V2V onboard unit, on the other hand, enters V2X & C-V2X radio communications with the infrastructure and connected vehicles. It equips professional vehicles such as public transport vehicles, patrol vehicles, priority vehicles, worksite vehicles, etc.
Through its City activity offer, LACROIX has also developed the PrioV2X offer, a solution deployed on a line of the Tisséo network in Toulouse City area and in Val-de-Marne on a line of the RATP network. The roadside units receive information from the navigation of the buses and regulate traffic to give them intersections priority. This solution not only makes public transport more attractive, it also improves commercial speed and reduces carbon emissions by optimizing transport consumption.
“V2X technology enables connected vehicles to communicate with their environment, creating a shared and secure ecosystem for safer and more efficient driving.
LACROIX offers a complete range of equipment dedicated to the communication of public transport, connected and automated vehicles with the road infrastructure“
The benefits of V2X technology are multiple. It allows connected vehicles to communicate with their environment, creating a shared and secure ecosystem for safer and more efficient driving. LACROIX offers a complete range of equipment dedicated to the communication of connected and autonomous vehicles with the road infrastructure. The benefits for the users of this equipment include robust and interoperable radio communication, a cyber-secure vehicle-infrastructure exchange as well as the ability to take into account hazards.
To sum up, LACROIX’s intelligent transportation strategy is focused on the design and deployment of innovative IoT solutions for traffic management, road safety and transit fluidity. The benefits of these solutions are numerous, ranging from improving transit efficiency to reducing carbon emissions and traffic congestion.
